download it at http://www.java.com or http://developer.apple.com/java/.

Installation Instructions
If you download the "Without Java VM" distribution", you
may need to download a Java VM 5.x or More at http://www.java.com.
For Mac OS X, JVM updates are available at http://developer.apple.com/java

Mac OS X :
- 10.2 : unzip editix.zip
with stuffit and run editix from the finder.
- 10.3 or More : unzip editix.zip
(double-click from the finder or use the 'unzip' command from the
terminal) and run editix from the finder.
Other platforms :
Each installation will create an editix installation directory and a
desktop link as possible to the running application. The bin directory from the installation directory contains the main
editix application. If you meet difficulties to run editiX, the
installation directory contains also a simple bash and batch script to
run it : bin/run.sh,bin/run.bat
